SPIRIT~MIND~BODY CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
 

PILATES:
Concentrating on core body strengthening.  This 30 minute workout promises to improve muscle endurance while lengthening lines and improving flexibility.

POWER & STRENGTH YOGA:
Add this class to your training regime to develop balance, injury free muscles & spines and build much more than a strong flexible body.  Either sweat your way into a lean form on POWER YOGA  on Wednesdays or engage in a more gentler meditative approach on STRENGTH YOGA on Mondays.  This physical discipline focuses mainly on postures & breathwork in order to prepare the body for spiritual pursuits. "NAMASTE"

PiYo:
Best of both worlds...experience Pilates and yoga in one hour.  PiYo is sometiems referred to in just as "mind/body for people who can't hold still."  An alternative to traditional yogo and Pilates, this format is idea for those looking to improve flexibility but perhaps find traditional yoga/Pilates intimidating or restrictive.

FLEXERCISE:
Exercises that have been fostered by the American Arthritis Foundation are proven to be effective and safe.  Focus on the reduction of bone loss and increase muscle tissue and joint integrity.  Reduces pain and stiffness and helps increase range of motion.  This class is ideal of those experiencing inflammatory disease, joint replacement and/or post rehab.

SILVER SNEAKERS:
Humana Insurance has put together a class specific for their seniors.  This is a chair based class somewhat like Flexercise.  Designed to aid in range of motion and everyday activities.

YOGA BASICS:
Yoga helps you manage pain, heal common ailments, and promote your overall well-being.  Unlike other exercises, yoga generates energy rather than dissipates it.  Yoga is both therapeutic and preventative in nature.   It helps keep the nervous system elastic and capable of bearing stress.  Breathing (something we can all do) is central to yoga, you realize that breath has the power to change how you feel and think and, like the poses, breathing is done slowly, with mindfulness.   Focused breathing is calming to the mind and relaxing to the body.  Join us after a long day and feel the rewards.

B-F.I.T.
Balance-Flex. Isolate. Tone. 
A new twist to an old routine.  Remember this exercise from the old club?  We're bringing it back!  NO CHAIRS WILL BE UTILIZED.  FLOOR WORK REQUIRED.  No age limit.  Wednesdays a.m. only.

This program has been in the hottest fitness clubs across the country and now you can experience it right here at the S.A.C.  Gliding isn't just fun --- i'ts easy.  They revolutionary sliding disc exercise system is designed to tone your body, strengthen and stretch and sculpt your muscles.  It's a graceful, elegant exercise based on natural, smoothe, low-impact motion perfect for working on the abs and the back muscles for an amazing core strengthening workout.
