"What are the club hours?"
We are a 24-hour Club open Sunday night at midnight through Saturday at 6pm. We are also open on Sundays from noon to 6pm.
"How big is the club?"
Slidell Athletic Club is approximately 52,000 sq. ft. of dedicated exercise (non-sport) space with even more if we included the Ultimate Fitness Studio. This makes Slidell Athletic Club the single largest exercise facility on the Northshore.
"How long have we been open?"
Slidell Athletic Club has been in it’s present location since May of 2006. Before that, we were at a smaller location just down Gause Boulevard for 11 years. That means that we've been gladly serving our members' health and fitness needs for 18 years!
“I’ve been around awhile and still haven’t gotten used to all of the equipment and areas of the club. What can you do to help me?”
We are here to help every single member on their journey to fitness. To that end, we have created the Smart Start Program. This comprehensive fitness series includes an educational seminar presented by our fitness staff and a personal fitness assessment with a fitness specialist. These valuable tools help to get our new members get off to the right start!
“I’m new to fitness and I’m not sure where my fitness level is or how I can set goals. Can you help me?”
We are SERIOUS About RESULTS! It's more than a tagline at Slidell Athletic Club. We want to give you the best start you can get in your fitness journey. The first thing anyone should do when joining the Club is to attend one of our Smart Start Seminars (see above). After this introduction to our facility and philosophy, you should sign up with one of our Certified Personal Trainers for a Fitness Assessment. You will leave this comprehensive health evaluation with an easy-to-understand report that will give you a baseline value in key areas that will help to set goals for improvement such as heart rate, blood pressure, upper body strength, body fat and body mass index.
“How important is the relationship between what I eat and reaching me fitness goals?”
Industry data suggests that proper nutrition is anywhere from 60-80% of the fitness battle. At Slidell Athletic Club we believe that if you want to reach your fitness goals, good diet and nutrition is imperative. It is is one of our 5 Basic Components of Fitness. Are Group Fitness classes for me? ...And how do I get into them? ...Do I need to sign up??
All Group Fitness classes are a part of your membership at Slidell Athletic Club. We offer a variety of classes - from nationally renowned classes like Zumba to aquatics in the Northshore's only indoor exercise pool - there is something for all ages and Lifestyles. All of our group classes can be taken by people of all fitness levels and there is no sign-up necessary. Just show up (and bring your own water bottle!) and you are ready to work out! Do you have things for the entire family to do at the club?
Short answer, YES! There are thousands of activities all around our campus, from infants to seniors, we have something for everyone. Stop by and talk with one of our Membership Advisors for more information.
